The Shreveport Times: Saturday May 2, 1953
Opening ceremonies of the newly remodeled Cuban Liquor Store No. seven, 201 Travis Street began yesterday and continue through next Saturday.
In line with the modernization program of the Cuban Liquor Company, no detail has been spared to make the new store a beautiful and convenient place in which to shop. The new streamlined shelf arrangments and island displays are so arranged to make shopping in this store a customer convenience.
Brands and beverage types are distinctly separated for easy customer reference. "The site of the new Cuban Liquor store No. seven at the corner of Spring and Travis streets has been known for many years [by] the customers of the Cuban Liquor company, however one would have to look hard to recognize any of the old landmarks since the entire building has been rebuilt."
The grand opeing of Cuban Liquor store number seven was planned to coincide with Holiday in Dixie Festivals. Opening activities began yesterday and will continue through next Saturday. The feature event of this opening is a grand prize consisting of an Emerson table model television set complete with a swivel top table. Registration for this prize will continue through the entire week of the grand opening.
On hand to greet those attending this opening will be Hardy Smith, manager of Cuban store number seven, as well as his sales force which include Sam [Alberts] and Frank [Musgrave].
